IFF is seeking a motivated and results driven individual to join IFF Taste division as Food Technologist, Bakery & Confectionary.
As Food Technologist Bakery & Confectionary, you will support the sales growth of SPO category in Greater Asia through bringing technologies and innovation into great application concepts. You will support customers in trouble shooting with your strong industry knowledge. Building customer intimacy and trust will be key elements to succeed in this role.
This position will report to Singapore Technical Category Manager, SPO, and you will work closely with Commercial and Marketing teams to deliver customer briefs.
What you will contribute…
Sales growth via key Reactive projects support
Develop and apply flavor in application formulations to maximize win rate, using knowledge of industrial standards, understanding market preferences and meeting client requirements.
Support Reactive Brief by developing effective application or illustration samples for customers.
Support Account Managers during Customer visit or presentation.
Support category team and customer requests as required.
Driving Innovation and technology in SPO category using tools from Re-Imagine Innovation Program
Support and involve in Innovation Process during Prove of Concepts and Prove of Principle stage.
Sharing Technical Knowledge and promoting /usage of IFF technology
Continuously learning / expanding knowledge of new ingredients and material for applications.
Develop application formulations based on industrial standards, country specific requirements and client requirement.
Maintain and continuously renovate application specific recipe database.
Understand the end products processing both lab and industrial scale.
Review, re-new and renovate Flavor Bank / portfolios.
Utilize Creative Skills to develop new exciting and innovative
Share knowledge with the team and mentoring Trainee or Associate Food Technologist within Greater Asia.
Project: handle briefs assigned in an effective and efficient manner.
Customer: Strategize defined by business growth strategies.
Independently work on key projects assigned.
Select and recommend appropriate flavor solutions within compliance, legal or cost requirements, and meet action standards outlined in customer briefs.
Visit clients and present IFF taste solutions and new technologies via innovative concepts
Work in close collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Flavorists, Sensory & Consumer Insight, GRA and other departments to support project execution.
Escalate and garner support from management team to obtain appropriate resources or expertise when required
Strategy and Business Knowledge
Develop cross functional collaboration to expand application and business knowledge.
Establish relationship with strategic customers and related categories.
Support and implement the Creative & Application strategy in Strategic projects.
Clear understanding and execution of IFF processes.
Keep abreast of new development and trends as well as consumer preference of the assigned category.

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology or any other relevant discipline.
Strong in Bakery & Confectionary application knowledge.
Good skills in prototypes, applications development and creation.
Ability to develop application formulation based on Industrial standards, country specifics or customer requirements.
Continuously evolving or expanding knowledge of Ingredients and materials for application.
Good understanding of the end products production process and Flavor performance in different applications.
Strong knowledge in Food Safety and Hygiene regulations.
Good Sensory and Discrimination Organoleptic skills.
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Applications.
Proficiency in operating laboratory and kitchen equipment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Good time management or organizing skills.
Ability to trouble shoot technical problem related to prototype recipe or during production.
Strong and thorough understanding of the procedure / sequence of addition for each ingredient to obtain best prototype.
Selected applicants will need to pass an IFF Internal Sensory and Discriminative Organoleptic assessment.
Minimum 7 years’ experience and proven track record in Flavors, Bakery & Confectionary, Industrial Food, Food Ingredients or relevant industry.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Flavor Research and Development work.
Experience in Food Manufacturing environment in terms of QC, R&D and production.
Experience in developing Bakery & Confectionary prototypes and excellent understanding of how flavor and other ingredients system function in the recipes.
Excellent in Sensory description and organoleptic discrimination.
International Flavors and Fragrances
